Terms of Service

Effective 26 August 2026 · Version 1.0

Please read this first. Fajr Companion is a planning and reflection aid. It cannot guarantee that an alarm, notification, prayer time, religious text, or wake challenge will be error-free or that you will wake or perform any act of worship.

1. Agreement and eligibility

By downloading, accessing, or using Fajr Companion, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service. You must be legally able to accept these Terms in your country; a parent or guardian must approve use where required.

2. What the service provides

Fajr Companion offers local alarms, wakefulness challenges, prayer-time presentation, optional reminders, personal duaa/dhikr organization, trusted sharing, progress summaries, and good-deed planning. Features can change as the service improves. Wake completion and post-Fajr confirmation represent your interaction or self-report; they are not proof of wakefulness, salah, sincerity, or spiritual standing.

3. Your responsibility

4. Religious content

We aim to publish sourced and human-reviewed Islamic questions, duaa, dhikr, verses, and encouragement. Human or technical errors remain possible, translations are interpretive, and content is not a substitute for a qualified scholar or local religious authority. Content marked as awaiting review is not served as reviewed public content.

5. Acceptable use

You may not attempt to bypass security, access another person’s records, scrape or overload the service, upload unlawful or abusive content, misuse trusted sharing, impersonate another person, distribute malicious code, or use the service to harass, shame, manipulate, or endanger someone. We may restrict online features when reasonably necessary to protect users or the service.

6. Your content and trusted sharing

You retain rights in content you create. You give us the limited permission needed to host, encrypt, synchronize, display, and delete it according to your instructions. Directional trust lets a person you approve contribute to your bucket; it does not make content public. You can revoke access. Do not contribute material you lack permission to share.

7. Availability, changes, and termination

The local wake path is designed not to require the backend, but online features may be unavailable, delayed, or discontinued. You may stop using the service and delete optional synced data through the app. We may suspend online access for serious misuse, security risk, or legal necessity. Provisions that by nature should survive—such as ownership, disclaimers, and liability limits—continue after termination.

8. No warranties

To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of uninterrupted operation, accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Fajr Companion is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss, or for loss arising from a missed alarm, missed notification, prayer-time difference, device failure, data loss, or reliance on religious content. Mandatory consumer protections and liability that cannot legally be limited remain unaffected.

10. Apple terms

If you obtain the app through Apple, these Terms are between you and Fajr Companion, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or support, except for obligations Apple cannot exclude under its own terms. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms as they relate to your licensed use of the iOS app.

11. Disputes and applicable law

Before starting formal proceedings, please contact us and allow a reasonable opportunity to resolve the concern. These Terms are governed by the laws that apply to the Fajr Companion operator and the mandatory consumer laws of your place of residence. Nothing here deprives you of a court or protection that applicable law makes mandatory.

12. Changes and contact

We may update these Terms for legal, security, or product reasons. We will revise the effective date and provide notice of material changes where appropriate. Questions can be sent through the contact page.

Release review. These Terms are a technically aligned initial policy and require qualified legal review before public launch.
